J-hope of the Korean supergroup BTS will drop a new solo single next month.
BigHit Music, the group's record label, took to Weverse the announcement.
The label said the rapper-dancer wrote the song to “share his candid feelings toward his fans.”
It noted that the title of the song, “on the street,” is a nod to J-hope's roots, which is street dance, as the multi-hyphenate began his artistic journey as a dancer.
According to BigHit Music, street dance started J-hope's dream to become an artist and “the path the artist and fans will continue to walk together."
"We hope that j-hope's 'on the street' serves as a meaningful gift to everyone who supports the artist. Please look forward to j-hope's new song!” the label continued.
The song “on the street” is set to be released on March 3, Friday, at 2 p.m. KST (1 p.m. in Manila).
A few hours prior to the announcement, BigHit has confirmed that J-hope has initiated the process of his military enlistment.
“We would like to inform our fans that j-hope has initiated the military enlistment process by applying for the termination of his enlistment postponement,” the label said in an earlier post.
J-hope's newest single follows his acclaimed first solo album, Jack in the Box, released last year.
The album includes hit tracks such as, “MORE,” “Arson,” “Safety Zone,” among others.
