Kapuso comedienne Chariz Solomon opened up about her past failed relationship with the father of her two kids.

In an interview with Smart Parenting, Chariz recalled the trauma of seeing her parents part ways during her childhood.

Chariz was only four years old when her father walked away from their family. Two years later, her mother abandoned Chariz and her siblings, forcing them to live with various relatives.

“Sabi ko pa nga, I won't have a broken family. E, kaso naghiwalay kami no'ng first husband ko,” Chariz was quoted saying.

Reflecting on her previous marriage, Chariz said that changing priorities and compatibility issues eventually weakened their relationship.

She also mentioned alarming signs that couples should watch out for as it could lead to serious problems down the road.

“Pag hindi na kayo nag-uusap, 'yun 'yung medyo nakakatakot na, e. Talagang major, major red flag 'yun,” warned the Bubble Gang mainstay.

“So it's important to talk in a healthy manner. Kasi talking pero just saying bad words and cursing each other is not good. Pero 'yung talking talaga healthily.”

It's alright for couples though to blow off steam after an argument to gain clarity and come up with sound realizations.

“Maganda [rin] 'yung talagang magpahupa ka muna, 'tapos kapag na-evaluate mo na sa sarili mo, naisip mo rin na, 'Ah! Mali ka rin! Ikaw din kasi, e.' Saka kayo mag-usap.”

Chariz is now on good terms with her ex-husband, businessman Nestor Ng. She lauded Nestor for being a good father to their kids, Apollo and Ali.

“Sobrang okay kami. And no'ng una syempre, hindi. Pero ngayon, okay kami. And I can talk about it now,” she mentioned.

Chariz eventually found a new love in professional DJ Vince Teotico. They have a son, Andreas Manolo, who was born on September 30, 2020.

“Just look at the simple things in life,” Chariz said, sharing her outlook honed by life experiences.

“But, you cannot have everything you want. Hindi lahat ibibigay sa 'yo, pero merong mga bagay na you didn't ask for but God gave you. So you should look at that.”
