Carmi Martin on her relationship with Apa Ongpin: 'He really loves me pero..."

Actress and comedienne Carmi Martin took a reflective journey down memory lane as she shared inspiring stories about her past relationships and her decision to embrace singlehood.

During an interview with Ogie Diaz, Carmi clarified that while choosing to live a solo life is now her preference, it wasn't always her plan.

"It's my choice pero before, it was not my choice talaga.

Carmi recounted her experiences in relationships, mostly with rich and intelligent non-showbiz men. Despite her prayers and efforts, she didn't find her perfect match.

"I kept on waiting, I kept on praying, I kept on having relationships na hindi alam sa showbiz.

One of her ex-boyfriends was the former actor turned businessman Apa Ongpin. Carmi revealed that while Apa deeply cared for her, their relationship faced challenges due to his family's disapproval.

Carmi disclosed, "Hindi ako type nu'ng family. Si Apa talaga really loves me .

After learning valuable lessons and enduring pain in each relationship, Carmi eventually stopped actively seeking love and embraced singlehood.

"Na-traumatize ako from all the relationships I had. Finally noong sa last relationship, I really asked God. Sabi ko, 'If this is not for me remove this lustful, parang urge from me at saka 'yung desire to be married,'" she said.

Carmi emphasized that her heart is now closed to love interests, and she finds happiness in her single life. She is currently dedicated to her career in showbiz and enjoys her role as a Sunday school teacher.
