Celeste Cortesi went back to her roots after handing over the Miss Universe Philippines crown.
Fresh from handing over her crown to Michelle Dee, former Miss Universe Philippines Celeste Cortesi has taken a trip to meet her mother's side of the family.
In her most recent post on Instagram, Celeste shared a number of pictures from the family reunion, writing in the comment section that her heart is “full” and that she couldn't wait to come back with her mother next time.
Celeste's love for her mother, Maria Luisa Rabimbi, is something that she has constantly shared, and was in fact her winning response when she won the Miss Universe Philippines crown. When asked about what she would do if she could stop time, she shared that she would spend time with her family.
Celeste's full response was, “If I could stop time, I would spend it with my family, especially my mother. It's been two years since I haven't spent time with my family because they live in Italy, and I came here in the Philippines just by myself. If I had a chance to spend one day, I would definitely be with my mom, and I would just tell her how much I love her and I miss her.”
During a trip to Boracay with fellow Miss Universe Philippines 2022 winners, Celeste was quick to praise her mother when asked what was uniquely beautiful about her.
“What's uniquely beautiful about my mom is really her determination, the way she is so strong, the way she sacrificed to provide for me and my sister and in a different country. It just says a lot about her strength and determination,” she explained. “That's the uniquely beautiful attribute about my mom. It doesn't matter what she goes through, it doesn't matter the challenges and the struggles, she's always strong and she can always help others.”
Celeste finally reunited with her mother in Parma, Italy. She posted seven photos and three videos of the reunion on her Instagram account, with the caption “Just like old times.”
At the time, Celeste was in Italy along with current Miss Universe Philippines Michelle Dee. The pair were traveling with Miss Universe Philippines creative director Jonas Gaffud and Miss Universe Philippines Director of Communications Voltaire Tayag.
