Sparkle stars Charlie Fleming and Prince Carlos react to the growing success of their 'KarVin Tandem' in 'The Master Cutter.'
Fans can see authenticity, and when they see it developing in an onscreen tandem between two characters, they gravitate to it without question. That seems to be the case for KarVin, the duo that Sparkle stars Charlie Fleming and Prince Carlos portray in the primetime series 'The Master Cutter.'
“I think we just 'KarVin' to their hearts,' Charlie Fleming said in response to the growing popularity of the 'KarVin' tandem.
GMANetwork.com got the chance to interview Charlie and her on-screen partner Prince Carlos yesterday, July 14 to talk about why viewers are getting hooked on the story arc of Karla (Charlie Fleming) and Gavin (Prince Carlos).
The Sparkle actress explained, “I think people resonated with Karla and Gavin because they are such a cute tandem. Parang in real life kasi may ganiyan, 'yung parang playful na lalaki. Playful din na babae, parang girls are very strong in this generation. Maybe hindi sila tomboyish gumalaw, hindi sila ganito but that strong willingness of Karla is very relatable.”
“Like my heart is melting, kasi I did not expect this amount of support, especially sa characters namin together.”
Prince chimed in, saying, “ 'Yung bardagulan kasi natin sa simula nagustuhan nila 'yun e, 'yung mga asaran namin, mga batuhan natin. 'Yung mga pambu-bully mo sa akin.”
“Ang funny kasi ng character mo [directed to Charlie]-playful, like boyish na character na naglalaro ng basketball.”

The Sparkle actor also shared what surprised him about his character as the primetime series progressed.
“Kung ano 'yung reason niya kung bakit siya lagi nasa Tabang-Lupa, lagi niya kasama si Karla, lagi silang naglalaro, nagbo-bonding. 'Tapos, ayun pala may isa pa palang character na parang gusto niya makita palagi.”
“Tapos, nagpatulong pa siya kay Karla na para mas mapalapit sa kanya. Tsaka, torpe pala si Gavin.”
