The Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) urged all police personnel to avoid showing bias on social media amid the ongoing impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte.
PRO-10 Director, Brigadier General Christopher Abrahano, said police personnel in the region are expected to act responsibly, especially in their activities on social media.
Abrahano explained that the Philippine National Police (PNP) respects the rights of its personnel, but reminded them not to forget their mandate.
He also emphasized that the police force remains an apolitical organization.
Police officers were also encouraged to refrain from engaging in political discussions and, instead, remain committed to their duties to better serve and help the community.
“Always ‘yan apolitical yung kapulisan natin. We leave the politicking to the politicians,” Abrahano said.
