Chie Filomeno: "I may be a public figure, but I am not public property. I ask that my private life remains private."
Chie Filomeno has issued a statement in response to circulating rumors linking her to Matthew Lhuillier, following unconfirmed reports of her supposed split with actor and longtime boyfriend Jake Cuenca.
The actress and social media personality clarified her position and asked the public to refrain from dragging other names into the issue.
In an Instagram Story earlier, September 29, Chie said, "I've been reading and hearing a lot these past few days and I ask that my past relationship, my present life, and the Lhuillier family be left out of this issue. They don't deserve to be dragged into something that has nothing to do with them.
"No further statements will be made at this time. I kindly ask that people refrain from speculation or intrusions into my private affairs.
"Thank you for your understanding and cooperation."
In another post, she further stressed, "I may be a public figure, but I am not public property. I ask that my private life remains private."
While fans and netizens have speculated about changes in her relationship status, neither she nor Jake has confirmed a breakup.
Chie and Jake have been in a relationship for three years.
