It's Christian Bautista's 20th year in the industry and he's celebrating with a concert this January 28, 2023
Asia's Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista encapsulates his 20 years in the music industry in three words: Love, tears, and hope.
"It's a lot of drama, a lot of successes, a lot of low periods. It's a mix, at the end of the day, when you remember lahat ng mga pinagdaanan at mga lesson nakakataba ng puso, to be allowed na magkaroon pa ng isa pang concert. I'm very excited," Christian said in an interview with GMA's internal press.
With 20 years of experience in the music industry, Christian admits he still encounters new realizations, such as the challenge of being hands-on with his upcoming concert titled "The Way You Look At Me."
"Mahirap pala kapag masyadong hands-on mas nakaka-stress but because it's an important concert one and definitely I'll be singing with a lot of friends in the industry," Christian narrated.
Familiar faces in the local concert scene are also joining Christian in the concert as guest performers namely Julie Anne San Jose, Aicelle Santos, Erik Santos, Morisette, The Company, Sam Concepcion, and the Metro Manila Symphony Orchestra.
The year 2023 is becoming a very fruitful year for the 41-year-old singer, songwriter, and music producer. "I'm thankful to God for these blessings, the concert and also The Clash, All-Out Sundays. It's a great start to 2023."
As one of the seasoned singers in the industry, Christian has an advice for younger singers, that they should familiarize themselves with the whole songwriting and music production process. "Maganda syempre na it comes from you or galing sa artist pero minsan nauubusan ka rin at minsan kailangan mo rin makinig pero at the same time 'wag masyadong outside influence lang. Ikaw mismo kailangan mag-aral, mag-research, at magkaroon ng sarili mong strategy or atake. Dapat open ka rin sa criticism at instructions at kung paano mo ma-mimix 'yun.
He describes the ideal traits a singer should have, "Isang singer na mabilis mag-adapt sa sitwasyon, mabilis gumalaw sa kung ano ang kailangan sa career o sa kaniyang sarili."
