Claudine Barretto calls out her ex-husband, Raymart Santiago, for financial support.
Actress Claudine Barretto calls out her ex-husband, Raymart Santiago, for failing to fulfill his financial obligation as a father on social media.
In an Instagram post, Claudine shared a text reminding parents about their responsibilities to their children.
It read, “Real dads support their children without the law telling them they have to.”
Meanwhile, the actress didn't shy away from mentioning Raymart's name and asking him to “fight fair” in the caption.
“This is for you, Raymart Santiago. Fight fair for once in your life!!” she said.
The post comes after Claudine shared how proud she is of her children's many scholastic achievements.
She told in one post, “Sabina [her eldest], anak, I will never get tired of telling you how proud I am to be your mom. I love you, keep it up, and God bless you in all that you do.”
In another post, she wrote, “Today I got my children's grades, and I am so proud of both Saint and Sab, and like always, they did so well. Thank you, Saint and Sab. I love you both so much. You guys make me so proud!”
It's not new news that Claudine is in a rift with her estranged husband, Raymart Santiago.
In late 2020, it was reported by PEP.ph that the actress plans to file a lawsuit against him for failing to meet their agreed child support terms.
According to the report, Claudine's complaint will include Raymart's alleged breach of the Violence Against Women and Children Act or RA 9262 and economic abuse.
Claudine's lawyer, Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, was quoted, “Hindi nagbibigay ng sustento si Raymart. Ang tagal na. Nagbibigay siguro ng 14 thousand [pesos] a month, ganun. Tapos wala na.”
Additionally, Atty. Topacio said the actor was supposed to provide PhP 100,000 a month for support.
“Before in court, meron na silang pinirmahan na 100 thousand [pesos] a month na puwede-puwede na rin, although insufficient pa rin.
“But even that, hindi natutupad kaya we have to file a case against him.”
At the time, Claudine and Raymart were scheduled to meet at the Marikina City Prosecutor's Office on December 10.
However, no development was reported about the said meeting in any news outlet.
