"Yellow" is one of the timeless hits of British rock band Coldplay.

Its music video features frontman Chris Martin walking in the beach amid the gloomy weather, wearing a black jacket. But did you know, he was supposed to wear a red sweater?

The band recently posted the alternate video for 'Yellow', where Chris can be seen wearing a red sweater.

Coldplay also revealed that the original plan was to have some “extras” or actors in the background, but since it rained all day, they decided to send them home at 4 p.m.

At that point, Chris told the cameraman, “Let's just walk down the beach”. And the rest, as they say, is history.

"Yellow" was released in June 2000 as part of Coldplay's debut album Parachutes and it became their breakthrough hit internationally and skyrocketed them into worldwide fame.

See the 20-year-old footage that the band had unearthed and posted on their Instagram and Tik Tok account below.

Take 1 of the Yellow video (hidden in the vaults since 2000). There were loads of extras in this version, but it rained all day so we sent them home at 4pm. Chris grabbed the cameraman and said 'let's just walk down the beach'. Worked out well in the end! PH #Coldplay #Parachutes
