Many Filipinos have grown a new appreciation and love for gardening amid the community quarantine. If you're one of them and you want to further your knowledge on urban gardening, then take part in the free online seminars of the Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Agricultural Research (DA-BAR).

The topics to be covered are Simple Nutrient Addition Program (SNAP) hydroponics and edible landscaping.

The schedules of the free online seminars are as follows:

• SNAP Hydroponics by Jess Descalsota - June 16
• Edible Landscaping by Cherry Balladares - June 23 (Part 1) and June 30 (Part 2)

The urban agriculture seminars are just some of the many initiatives that DA has undertaken to promote the importance of planting for food security.

DA has also given away free seeds and seedlings to Filipino gardeners and has even launched a planting contest to encourage more people to get into gardening.

The free online seminars will be streamed every Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. on the official Facebook page of DA-BAR.
