In his Instagram post, Derrick encouraged people to help the campaign of the United Nation's Children's Emergency Fund and Save the Children Philippines to protect minors from sexual abuse and exploitation.

He said that the campaign #SafeKidsPH has been an eye-opener.

“Just this week I was invited to take part in Unicef 's campaign about sexually-exploited children. And it was truly an eye-opener for me. I realized how cruel this world has been to these kids.

“At first, I can't even convince myself that these things happen because it is almost inconceivable that human beings can do such acts.

"And for me, really, the most disturbing part about this is that most of these children are minors under the age of 15.

“Their own parents/guardians are the ones forcing them to do these terrible acts of maliciousness."

Derrick added, “This post may not concretely solve the issue but I do hope that this can wake people up and stand against these predators for the sake of our children. Kudos to Unicef for launching this campaign!

"Together, let's make this world a safer place for them. #saferkidsph”
