Reina Hispanoamericana 2025 Dia Maté looked back on what she described as one of the most meaningful chapters of her life, as her reign came to an end.
The Filipina beauty queen reflected on the experience, saying the journey turned out to be far more meaningful than she had ever imagined.
“Beyond titles and expectations, it became a year of growth, connection, and purpose,” she wrote in a social media post.
According to Dia, the experience allowed her to learn more about herself while building connections with people from different cultures and communities.
“I never imagined I would be the second Filipina to wear the crown, yet this journey proved that anything is possible. It has been both an honor and a responsibility, one that has shaped who I am today,” she added.
She also spoke about the bittersweet feeling of eventually handing over the crown.
“Lo más valioso no se ve, se siente,” Dia said. “Being a queen is not defined by a crown… it lives in the heart, in the impact we leave, and in the legacy we carry forward.”
She concluded her message by writing, “Forever grateful. Forever Reina Hispanoamericana.”
Dia Maté brought home the Philippines' second Reina Hispanoamericana crown after winning the international pageant in February 2025.
In addition to the main title, Dia also earned the Best in National Costume award for her Ehrran Montoya creation, inspired by the Baroque churches of the Philippines.
Her reign as Reina Hispanoamericana concluded as she passed the crown to Kimberly de Boer from Curacao, who was crowned on 21 February 2026 in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. The Philippines was represented by Beatriz Abalajon Mclelland.
