Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera is one of the recipients of the Best Actress award at the 20th Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival.

Marian Rivera was hailed as one of the Best Actress awardees at the Cinemalaya 2024 for her outstanding performance as Teacher Emmy in the film Balota.

Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes, was proud of his wife's latest achievement and penned a short yet sweet appreciation post for her.

“My seatmate, Cinemalaya 2024's Best Actress. Fresh from her acceptance speech. I am so proud of you, my wife,” he wrote in his Instagram post.

Aside from this, the renowned actor-host also shared adorable snaps of him with his wife during the latter's 40th birthday celebration.

Balota tells the story of a land-grabbing tycoon and a former male sexy actor who are locked in a tight race for the mayoral seat of a small town.

Emmy (Marian Rivera), a teacher who serves in the elections, runs into the wilderness to protect a ballot box, containing the last copy of the election results, when violence erupts in their town.

Apart from Marian, Gabby Padilla was also named Best Actress at the Cinemalaya 2024 for her role in the film Kono Basho.
