The DingDong delivery app founder completed six deliveries and expressed appreciation to all the hardworking riders “across the board.”

Kapuso actor Dingdong Dantes marked Valentine's Day, February 14, on the road.

The actor though was not out for a leisurely road trip with his family nor a relaxing quick getaway.

Instead, Dingdong hit the streets as a delivery rider for his start-up venture DingDong.

In the end--and after six deliveries from morning until mid-afternoon--Dingdong reflected on the incredible experience by writing about it on social media.

“I finished 6 deliveries this Valentine's Day. But on an average, delivery riders accomplish around 8-10 transactions on good days like this one,” he wrote on Instagram.

“I started at 9:30am and ended before 3pm, and as I sit here at home waiting for early dinner, I realize how difficult this job is.

“There are so many factors to consider: heat, dehydration, heavy traffic, wrong addresses - which can cause panic and delays, customer's temperament, plus the danger of getting into accidents especially if you have not been properly trained.”

The experience was an eye-opener for Dingdong, who applauded delivery riders for wearing “a smile at all times, and make everything look bearable.”

He added, “Maybe it's because of their clear “why” and strong motivation. Ginagawa nila ito para sa mga mahal nila sa buhay.”

Dingdong said he found a new whole level of respect for all the tireless people working in the delivery business.

It also made him more determined to help the industry, which is growing by the day ever since the pandemic struck in early last year.

“And today, mas lalo pang tumindi ang paghanga at respeto ko sa inyong lahat. That's why i will never get tired of my mission of professionalizing this industry, especially for those who want to be successful in this field.”

DingDong was launched in 2020 as a way to help the people working in the entertainment business who are severely affected by the months-long work stoppage due to the pandemic.

The app's tagline is, “You Ring It, We Bring It.”

Its website said, “DingDong was born as a business idea when Dong Dantes personally delivered a flower arrangement with utmost care for his wife Marian's flower shop.

“The idea was shelved until the COVID pandemic hit and in its wake deprived many of their livelihoods. DingDong was founded in the midst of a pandemic on the premise that it would help build better lives, families, and communities by providing quality work, goods, and services.”

Dingdong said in a statement last August, “I have personally witnessed how the COVID-19 crisis affected our work in the entertainment industry, and how home-based businesses cope with and even thrive on it.

“These challenges and opportunities made the initiative and partnership imperative and timely. Building the platform became a cause bigger than ourselves.”

Although Dingdong spent Valentine's Day working, it didn't mean that he forgot to allot quality time to his family.

In fact, Dingdong went on a family trip before Sunday to be with his loving family. Take a look at their pictures here:
