Dingdong Dantes and director Dominic Zapata preview the adrenaline-filled story and complex characters of GMA-7's upcoming series The Master Cutter, premiering April 17 on Netflix.

You could really feel the energy and pride of multi-awarded actor and host Dingdong Dantes when he attended the glitzy “Next on Netflix 2026” event, where he and director Dominic Zapata teased the action-packed and gripping story of the GMA Prime series The Master Cutter.

The streaming giant will begin airing the GMA Entertainment Group-produced series on April 17.

In a chance interview with 24 Oras, the 45-year-old actor was visibly excited as he talked about the different disguises he had to wear for the primetime soap.

“Very interesting kasi 'yung tema ng palabas, so marami akong mga disguise dito. Pero higit sa lahat, siyempre 'yung kwento. Iyon naman talaga 'yung pinakamahalaga sa lahat. 'Yung human element ng bawat character na pinoportray dito,” Dingdong shared with Nelson Canlas.

Meanwhile, Direk Dominic explained during his speech at the “Next on Netflix 2026” event that The Master Cutter will showcase a plethora of individual characters that will be relatable to the audience.

At the same time, viewers will be glued to the GMA-7 series—whether on TV or smartphones—because of its adrenaline-pumping action scenes.

“We layer the chaos of Baclaran with all the action scenes,” he explained. “But the point is that we want to see through the chaos and highlight individual characters—people who live in Baclaran. We try to delve into their lives, see what's behind them.”

“We explore these characters and showcase what you can appreciate about them. They're relatable—and spiced with a lot of action.”

For her part, GMA Network Senior Vice President Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes told 24 Oras that she is ecstatic about the partnership with Netflix, as it enables GMA-7 to bring its world-class content to a much wider audience.

“We are very excited, and we are very thankful to Netflix kasi nadadala niya ang ating mga programa not just from GMA but from other local producers to a wider audience [such as] Southeast Asia and the global arena,” she said.

Joining Dingdong Dantes in The Master Cutter are Max Collins, Paolo Contis, Sienna Stevens, Jo Berry, and Pinoy Big Brother alums Shuvee Etrata and Charlie Fleming.
