Mano Po Legacy: The Flower Sisters is probably going to be a memorable project for director Xion Lim as this is the first TV series that he directed.
Xion is not a newbie in the job. In fact, his self-produced web series titled My Day was among the boy's love series that became popular during the height of the pandemic.
However, in Mano Po Legacy: The Flower Sisters, Xion was able to experience working with a bigger team and on mainstream.
“Kasi, I've been doing a lot of works before na talagang sarili ko lang, ako ang nagpo-produce,” he said in a short chat with GMANetwork.com earlier (January 13).
Although, he admitted to being pressured at the beginning of the series, “This one, it's really a job na na-pressure ako kasi, siyempre, kailangan kong yung mga audience. At hindi lang yung audience, siyempre, kailangan pati yung mga taong nagtiwala sa akin na gawin ito. Kahit na sabihin nating tatlo kaming directors diyan, ako yung pinakabago, e. Siyempre, nag-o-observe din ako sa senior directors ng show na sina Direk Ian [Loreños], Direk Nick [Olanka].”
Mano Po Legacy: The Flower Sisters director Xion Lim with Regal Entertainment executive Roselle Monteverde.
Nevertheless, he later on enjoyed doing his job for this GMA Telebabad series. Thanks to its crew and cast, led by Aiko Melendez, Beauty Gonzales, Thea Tolentino, and Angel Guardian.
“Sobrang nag-enjoy ako,” he said.
“At first, pressured na pressured ako, thinking of the stress na naririnig ko kapag nagwo-work ka sa TV. Pero noong pumasok ako, since I love my job, I didn't feel the stress.
“Although nandoon yung late nights na natatapos, enjoy pa rin siya kasi mababait yung crew and lalo na yung cast. Yun talaga yung nagulat ako kasi ang babait. At first, I was thinking baka attitude kasi matagal na o ganyan. Pero yung impression ko naiba, ibang-iba siya sa naisip ko before. Siguro depende sa production, pero itong production na 'to, maayos siya, nakaka-excite to work again,” he added.
According to Xion, he signed an eight-project contract with Regal Entertainment. After Mano Po Legacy, he is set to direct an episode of the weekly drama anthology Regal Studios Presents. He will also release his new web series titled My Story, which is a sequel to his hit BL series My Day.
