Doug Kramer took to social media to encourage the public to extend support to the families of the late Ateneo student-athletes Rene Baterbonia and Divine Adili.

In his now expired Instagram Story, the former basketball player said that while there have been many discussions surrounding the tragedy and those involved, his immediate concern is helping the families who are grieving the loss of their loved ones.

"There is a lot being said right now regarding our fellow Blue Eagles who have passed on, their families, and our alma mater," Doug wrote. "However, my focus right now is simply to be an avenue of help for their grieving families."

Doug, who was part of the champion team of the Ateneo De Manila University Blue Eagles in 2002, then shared donation channels authorized by the families of Rene and Divine for those who wish to provide financial assistance.

He also urged his followers to spread the information and help in any way they can.

"Share and let's all help, guys. Be an avenue of blessing," he said.

Rene and Divine were members of the Ateneo de Manila University community who died following a drowning incident during a team-building activity in Dipaculao, Aurora. Their deaths prompted an outpouring of grief and support from fellow students, alumni, athletes, and members of the wider Ateneo community, many of whom have since rallied behind their families during this difficult time.
