The new wholesome team of Sparkle star Euwenn Mikaell and veteran actor Joel Torre is set to captivate audiences in Netflix's upcoming film Lolo and the Kid.

Both award-winning stars will portray the touching story of the poor yet fun duo of a grandfather and child.

Recently, the popular video streaming service released the movie's trailer on their social media platforms, stirring excitement among fans. It previewed the duo's adventures, from their mischievous acts to heartwarming moments such as singing karaoke and enjoying the amusement park.

Joel Torre's character was also seen imparting real-life wisdom to Euwenn's, reflecting the harsh realities of society.

One of his quotes, "Kid, ang mahalaga diskarte. Kapag wala kang diskarte sa mundong ito, mamamatay kang dilat at walang laman ang tiyan mo."

The film promises twists in the characters' relationship, delivering emotional and heartwarming scenes throughout. Alongside the main stars, other well-known celebrities like Asawa ng Asawa Ko star Joem Bascon was also featured in the trailer.

Lolo and the Kid is eagerly anticipated and is scheduled for release on August 7 on Netflix.

In addition to his role in the film, Euwenn Mikaell will star in GMA's upcoming inspirational afternoon series Forever Young, alongside Kapuso artists Michael De Mesa, Eula Valdes, Rafael Rosell, Alfred Vargas, Nadine Samonte, Althea Ablan, Princess Aliyah, Bryce Eusebio, Lucho Ayala, and Anjo Damiles.

Euwenn's career blossomed with his standout performance in GMA Pictures' award-winning film Firefly. He has garnered prestigious recognitions including Best Child Actor awards at the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) and the 2024 Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) Awards.
