EXO's Chen is back with a new album!
On May 28, Chen dropped his fourth mini-album, DOOR, along with the music video for the title track, "Empty."
The album contains six tracks, including "Empty," "Dandelion," "PLAYLIST," "Fall In Love Again," "Starlight," and "Remember." On “DOOR Countdown Live,” Chen shared that he participated in writing the lyrics for five songs.
According to Chen, before hearing the lead track, he was thinking about the color and style of his new album--whether he should go ballad, R&B, or be more sexy. But the moment he heard "Empty," he knew it was the one.
"Empty, the word itself, it might seem negative but not to me. It seemed lonely, but singing this lonely song I want to give you hope," Chen said on “DOOR Countdown Live.”
DOOR marks Chen's first release in a year and a half, following his third mini-album, Last Scene, in November 2022. This is also his first album from his new label, INB100, which now handles his solo career.
Chen is a South Korean singer, songwriter, and a member of the K-pop boy group EXO. His solo hit tracks include "Beautiful Goodbye," "Shall We," "Hello," and "Last Scene."
