Sharon Cuneta asks bashers to stop comparing daughters Frankie Pangilinan and KC Concepcion
On Monday evening, Megastar Sharon Cuneta went live on Instagram to reveal the emotional turmoils her family has endured over the past few weeks.
According to Sharon, she was hurt by the malicious attacks directed to Frankie Pangilinan to the point that some even compared her daughter's physical appearance to that of KC Concepcion.
She said before bursting to tears, “Siyempre maganda siya. Anak siya ng matinee idol.”
KC is the daughter of Sharon with actor Gabby Concepcion while Frankie is the eldest daughter of Sharon with Senator Francis “Kiko Pangilinan.”
Sharon then turned to Frankie, who's in the same room as her, and said, “I'm so sorry, hun. You [Frankie] don't deserve that.
“And in the end, that's not what matters, you know? Physical beauty fades.
“They shouldn't do that to sisters, they shouldn't do that to children, and most importantly, they shouldn't do that to siblings. You shouldn't do that to women.
“As a mother… how dare they? I love you all equally.”
She then turned to the camera to tell bashers, “Ako na lang pintasan niyo.
“Natural, 'di naman gwapo si Kiko… as gwapo as Gabby.
“But when I married Kiko it didn't matter, kasi lahat ng gwapong dinate ko sinaktan lang ako. 'Di naman pangit 'yung asawa ko sa personal, 'di lang nga matinee idol
“But how dare you, pag-aawayin niyo 'yung magkapatid? Ako po ang nagsilang sa mga 'yan.”
On top of that, Frankie has also been a target of rape which is currently being investigated by authorities.
Frankie to take a step back from social media
Unlike her mom, Frankie Pangilinan continues her fight against rape culture online but in a more tamed manner.
On Wednesday, July 1, Frankie wrote that she'll be taking a step back from Twitter -- a platform she prominently uses.
She told her followers, “Hi my loves, I was initially just going to take a break but I figured, I'd let you know first in case my silence is odd.
“I'll be keeping my distance from social media as much as possible while still occasionally helping spread awareness for things that matter.
“I hope you understand and I love you so much.”
Early Thursday morning, Frankie clarified that she's taking a hiatus, not because of the insults and accusations she's received from voicing her opinions online.
Adding, “To clarify, this isn't why. The mudslinging has been happening for years.”

As of this writing, Frankie has yet to disclose the reason as to why she's retreating from the social media platform.
