After nearly three weeks since Sarah Wurtzbach lashed out on social media, her mother, Cheryl Alonzo Tyndall, breaks her silence about the ongoing feud.
On October 31, the mother of both Pia and Sarah published a 20-minute video on YouTube to air her version of the story together with second husband, Nigel Tyndall.
Nigel started the conversation and revealed he felt furious at his stepdaughter.
He continued to say that it took them a while to hear about the news since they were blocked from accessing Sarah's social media account.
“It took a lot of time to think back over the years of all the wrongs and bad things that were done to us, and Cheryl, after we helped her,” he added.
Taking her turn, Cheryl recalled the time when she was still raising her two daughters in Pasig City and told a story where she and Pia had to find Sarah in the wee hours of the night.
She said, “As a single mom, napakahirap alagaan ng dalawang batang babae na mestiza. Talagang binabantayan ko po ang mga anak ko.
“Dahil sa mga barkada sa labas, naaya si Sarah na lumabas-labas at makipaglaro.
“Nandoon na iyong puntong hahanapin namin siya, kaming dalawa ni Pia, maghahanap sa mga bahay-bahay at tatawagin namin ang pangalan niya.”
While she did not directly address Sarah's allegations, Cheryl addressed the public by saying that they have no right to judge her as a person.
“Gagawin ko ba naman 'yan sa mga anak ko? Hindi po, hindi po ako ganyang tao. Hindi po ako ganyang ina.
“Huwag niyo po akong husgahan kasi talaga pong inalagaan ko iyong aking mga anak,” she said.
Cheryl also said a new issue arose nearly three years after her family flew to the U.K.
She said she received a letter from Sarah's principal who said that her daughter was telling her classmates that she was abused as a child.
“Sabi po ng principal, 'Sarah has a problem, she's talking to her other classmates and to some mother about what happened to her in the Philippines,'” she stated.
“I said, 'What?' I was really, really shocked."
Upon hearing the principal's statement, Cheryl broke down to tears and asked her youngest daughter what happened to understand the pain she was going through.
Similarly, she said Sarah shrugged the issue.
“Nagsabi ako ng mga pangalan na na-encounter namin sa buhay namin doon. Hindi raw, hindi raw, hindi raw,” Cheryl said.
“Sabi ko, 'Sino? Bakit ngayon mo lang sinasabi sa akin? Nandio tayo sa U.K., paano kita mapapagtanggol? Ano'ng gagawin natin ngayon?'
“Alam niyo, ang sakit-sakit sa akin noon.”
Despite these challenges, the clan went on with their lives, and Cheryl continued to support her daughter until she can stand on her own.
She said, “Matalino po si Sarah, magaling sa math. She's a smart girl and she always has a grade A on her cards.
“She had different relationships that we support. We supported her relationship because she's still exploring.”
Addressing the issue towards her daughter, Cheryl said that Sarah might be going through postpartum depression after giving birth to her second child last October 2018.
She reiterated, “I love my daughters. I don't believe that she (Sarah) hates me so much. I know she loves me. I still believe that.
“I always think maybe it's postpartum. I want to believe that it's just postpartum, harder than normal or worse than normal.
“Iyon lang po ang masasabi namin sa ngayon. Marami pong taong mapamantala. Biktima rin po ako.
“Kaya ayun lang po. Mahal ko ang mga anak ko.”

Sarah Wurtzbach aired her frustrations towards her sister Pia and their mother Cheryl last Monday, October 12, revealing that she was raped at a young age.
While she has already apologized for her outburst and rekindle her relationship with her sister, she reiterated that her actions were brought by years of keeping the “pain from within.”
