Jennylyn Mercado, Dennis Trillo's 'modern family' takes spotlight on a magazine cover

On Instagram on January 20, Modern Parenting featured the growing family of Jennylyn and Dennis by posting a snap from their glam shoot.
In the photo, the family of five was all smiles as they look great wearing their neutral-colored ensembles.
“Being a blended family may have its fair share of challenges, but with a delicate balance of bonding, disciplining, and knowing which battles to fight, #JennylynMercado and #DennisTrillo have built a solid foundation for their family,” wrote Modern Parenting.
In Modern Parenting magazine's article, Dennis shared their setup as a blended family.
“A blended family is like a regular and normal family. May mga ibang normal family pero medyo dysfunctional sila. Sa amin, kahit blended kami at modern ang setup, we see to it na masaya ang bawat isa and talagang solid kahit ano pang tawag diyan,” he said.
When asked about the relationship of their two boys, Jennylyn answered, “Para silang sabay lumaki.”
Jennylyn also mentioned that Calix, Dennis' son with actress Carlene Aguilar, and Jazz, her son with actor Patrick Garcia, were already close even before they decided to be together as a modern family.
“Nagkikita sila kahit nung hindi pa kami magkasama sa isang house,” she explained.
Dennis also believes that Calix will be a protective brother to his half-sister, Dylan.
“Feeling ko ngayon pa lang, magiging protective kuya si Calix. Lalo na nag-iisang babae lang. And malalaki na ang mga kuya niya so meron siyang dalawang bodyguard. May dalawa na siyang protector at tagapagtanggol pag inaapi siya,” he added.
