Actor Darren Criss is mourning the death of his father Charles Williams Cris.

Filipino-American actor Darren Criss is grieving the death of his father, Charles Williams Criss Jr., due to a rare heart condition. He was 80 years old.

The Glee and American Crime Story actor announced his father's death on April 27 and shared some photos of his father along with a heartfelt tribute.

He wrote, "Bill Criss has left the building. After many years of coping with a rare heart condition-which true to his form, very few would have even been aware of-he finally checked out peacefully yesterday morning, surrounded by his loved ones. Dad lived an extraordinary life."

Fellow celebrities flocked his comments to express their sympathies including Steve Aoki, Busy Philipps, Dylan McDermott, Ricky Martin, and George Kotsi.

The 33-year-old actor received Emmy and Golden Globe acting awards for his lead role in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story (2018).
