First Yaya stars Cassy Legaspi and Joaquin Domagoso revealed the reason why they chose to sign with GMA Artist Center.

Cassy signed a contract with GMA Artist Center in 2018 alongside twin brother Mavy Legaspi. Meanwhile, Joaquin officially became a Kapuso in 2019 when he became a semi-regular cast of defunct variety show 'Studio 7.'

Cassy, who was known for her commercials growing up, shared that she and Mavy talked about whether to sign with GMA Artist Center.

She said in an online interview, "Growing up naman, I was guesting both sa kabila and sa GMA."

"But after some guestings sa kabila, biglang nag-offer ang Artist Center to sign with them, and my dad (Zoren Legaspi) was already with Artist Center and he had nothing but good comments to say.

"So sabi niya, 'I suggest if you want to enter showbiz, you take this opportunity pero take it seriously because this is also your work and this is also your future.'

"So kami ni Mavy, we took some time to really think na, 'Ok, do we sign with Artist Center?'

"So we gave it a shot. Now, I have no regrets signing with GMA Artist Center.

"Super happy ako dito."

Meanwhile, Joaquin revealed that GMA Artist Center has wanted him since before his dad, Isko Moreno, won the mayoralty race for Manila in 2019.

He said, "Ako talaga, GMA talaga from the start because bago pa nanalo si papa, gusto na ako ng GMA."

"So GMA talaga ako kasi I believe in loyalty."

Although they came from showbiz families, Cassy and Joaquin had to compromise with their parents to join showbiz.

Carmina Villarroel, Cassy's mom, is still active in showbiz and can be seen in GMA's afternoon drama Babawiin Ko Ang Lahat, while Zoren Legaspi is part of Bilangin ang Bituin sa Langit.

Carmina, Cassy, and Mavy also host the weekly talk-variety show Sarap 'Di Ba?

Cassy, who is currently taking a business marketing major, revealed, "The only compromise was to continue my studies, and to take this job seriously."

"Kasi entering showbiz is really no joke, and alam ko naman 'yun and this is really what I want to do.

"It's just so that once I enter showbiz, my mom doesn't want me to let go of my education."

For Joaquin, who is taking business entrepreneurship, his dad wants him to have a much better education than he has.

He said, "Same thing with Cassy, entering showbiz, basta 'wag ko lang kalimutan 'yung studies ko."

"Kasi sa papa ko, 'yun lang 'yung pinakaimportanteng bagay [na] he wants for me to study kasi 'yun 'yung nagkulang sa kanya nung bata siya.

"He was also working and he always wanted a better education. Now that he has the ability to give that to me, and parang gusto ko mag-showbiz, it's conflicting.

"As long as I do both properly, okay lang sa kanya."

This 2021, Cassy and Joaquin will be part of GMA's most-awaited primetime show First Yaya bannered by Sanya Lopez and Gabby Concepcion.
