On May 3, Hafthor set a new world record as he broke a deadlift world record by hoisting a whopping 501 kilograms or 1,104 pounds.

The 2018 World's Strongest Man event took place in the Philippines where Hafthor bested out several strong and muscular people from around the world.

Hafthor portrayed the role of Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane in the HBO series Game of Thrones for five seasons.
