Singer Frenchie Dy gave an update on her health via her Facebook account.
Frenchie recenly shared that she was diagnosed with Bell's Palsy for the third time.
On February 5, the singer shared a video chronicling her first day of therapy.
She underwent electrotherapy to stimulate the muscles on her face. "Para kong inu-Ulthera," she joked.
This was followed by a facial massage and infrared radiation to improve the circulation on her face.
According to Frenchie, she needs to go to therapy at three times a week. "I'm very patient and I'm claiming na magiging okay 'to agad agad. Maraming maraming salamt sa encouraging words ninyong lahat. You motivate me, guys. Thank you so much," she said.
In another video, the singer also demonstrated how she gives herself a facial massage, which she must do three times a day.
She also shared that she is due to have a few more tests like magnetic resonance imaging and electromyography in the hopes of understanding why her Bell's Palsy keeps relapsing.
"I'm praying na hindi serious, na walang kahit na ano, as in Bell's Palsy lang at makaka-recover ako," she said.
According to the Mayo Clinic, Bell's Palsy is the sudden weakness of the muscles on one side of the face.
The exact cause of this condition has not yet been explained or determined.
Its symptoms may improve within a few weeks and it takes six months to fully recover. However, there are some people who experience its symptoms for life.
It's also rare for a person to experience it more than once, as in Frenchie's case.
