Friends director James Burrows


Renowned director James Burrows has died. He was 85 years old.

Legendary television director James Burrows, known for his contributions to some of the most beloved comedy series of all time, has passed away. He was 85 years old.

His family confirmed the news in a statement shared with PEOPLE on June 19.

“We celebrate the extraordinary life and enduring legacy of James 'Jimmy' Burrows, who passed away peacefully today surrounded by his loving family," the statement read.

Friends cast members including Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, Courteney Cox have expressed their grief on social media, and recalled their fond memories of James.
