Gabby Concepcion on his former teacher: “Siya 'yung naging inspiration ko, kasi parang na-push ako.”
Former My Guardian Alien star Gabby Concepcion shared an unforgettable experience he had with a former teacher.
The versatile TV-movie actor recalled his school days during the media conference for the Gabay Guro Gathering held yesterday, September 25.
Gabby will be among the A-list celebrities attending the special event organized as a tribute for all the wonderful teachers at the Meralco Theater on September 29.
Also performing in the event are Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, All-Out Sundays star Mark Bautista, Pops Fernandez, Martin Nievera, and Megastar Sharon Cuneta.
The Gabay Guro Gathering is in line with the celebration of this year's National Teachers Month and World Teachers' Day.
During the interview with the members of the press, Gabby recalled his former science teacher that really pushed him to do better in school.

“I like science you know, well 'yung teacher kong 'yun naging inspired ako because of her nakita niya 'yung gusto ko at madalas niya ako pinupuri.
“[Sabi niya], 'ito yung estudyante kong mahilig sa science, bini-bet ko na mataas ang grade nito pagkatapos ng exam natin'.” Gabby remembered.
He continued, “Well na-pressure ako pero, at the same time siya 'yung naging inspiration ko, kasi parang na-push ako. And magaling magturo, magaling siyang magpaliwanag. Yun din ang mga gusto ko sa mga teachers.”

For those who didn't know, Gabby's mother, the late Maria Lourdes Arellano, was a teacher.
The father of KC Concepcion shared that he really feels comfortable when bonding with teachers, because it reminds him of his mom.
“I told you that my mom kasi [was] a teacher. Very close ako sa mga teachers pagkadating sa mga event ng Gabay Guro, kasi ang feeling ko parang nasa bahay lang ako. Naalala ko 'yung mother ko.
“Pagkasama ko na 'yung mga teacher on stage, parang feeling ko maski hindi mo sila kilala parang meron silang relationship sa'yo,"
Mrs. Arellano sadly passed away at the age of 79 in 2020, while Gabby's father, Rolando “Rolly” Concepcion died on September 23, 2008.
