Garrett Bolden makes it to the 'Veiled Cup' semi-finals
Garrett Bolden charmed the Veiled Cup judges with his charismatic voice, quickly becoming one of the standout performers on the program. Although their identities have not been officially revealed on Veiled Cup, the contestants were revealed on All-Out Sundays' Veiled Musician Philippines as Garrett Bolden, Thea Astley, and Arabella Dela Cruz. Meanwhile, the show's impressive lineup of judges includes Girls' Generation member Tiffany, i-dle's Miyeon, Henry Lau, Ailee, 10cm, and Paul Kim.
As the competition progressed, Tiffany was asked about her experience judging Veiled Musician Philippines. Reflecting on her time in the country, Tiffany recalled, "When I was in the Philippines, they had very delicate vocals, and the expressiveness was good. Like a singer-songwriter style. Participants have a deep sense of rhythm and expressiveness. Because this song has been loved for so long, I'm looking forward to how Zambales Beast will interpret it."
In addition to Tiffany's remarks, fellow judge Paul Kim also praised Garrett's performance. Specifically, Paul Kim complimented Garrett's voice and said, "He has a unique and diverse tone. I think this is a song where the ability to convey the lyrics is very important, he delivered it very expressively. In addition to delivering the lyrics, even his vocal control is skillful."
Following these positive evaluations, Garrett was then advanced to the semi-finals. When asked how he came up with the nickname Zambales Beast, Garrett explained the meaning behind it, saying, "When people think of the word beast they think scary, but on the contrary, I just want to share my voice to the world."
Finally, celebrating the milestone, Garrett shared his excitement on social media, writing, "We made it to the Semis! Sharing a snippet of the commentaries after my performance. Let's go Team Philippines."
Voting is now officially open for the Best Listener's Choice category on Spotify. Listeners who would like to vote will simply have to open their Spotify account and search for the "Veiled Cup Playlist" and find the voting area, where they will vote for the songs: "Wishful Thinking" from Manila Storyteller, "Our Love" from the Zambales Beast, and "Wake Up" from Manila Diva. These three songs, performed by Thea Asley, Garrett Bolden, and Arabelle dela Cruz, which the listeners are allowed to vote for a maximum of three times a day. Voting is ongoing until January 29, 2026.
