Aside from the "TV Station of the Year award," Kapuso programs and personalities also took home various recognitions at the 7th GEMS Hiyas ng Sining Awards.

GMA Network has once again proven that its roster of shows and personalities are exceptional and deserving of recognition as they bag numerous accolades at the 7th GEMS Awards.

The Guild of Educators, Mentors, and Students (GEMS) - Hiyas ng Sining is an organization that recognizes people who showcase excellence in different fields of the arts including journalism, theater, radio, and movies.

This year, GMA-7 was awarded TV Station of the Year while the Best TV Progam (Public Affairs/Public Service) title was given to GMA-7's Wish Ko Lang.

Veteran journalist and newscaster Ivan Mayrina of 24 Oras Weekend was also given the Best Newscaster award. Meanwhile, I-Witness host and news anchor Sandra Aguinaldo won the Best TV Program Host under the Documentary/Educational/Informative category.

Fan-favorite GMA-7 TV series Maria Clara at Ibarra was also branded as the Best TV Series. Stars of the show also proved that their performances made a mark as each of them gain recognition.

Kapuso actor Juancho Triviño won the Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role category for playing the role of Padre Salvi in Maria Clara at Ibarra while Kapuso actress Andrea Torres won Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role for taking on the role of Sisa in the series.

Award-winning Kapuso actor Dennis Trillo also bagged the Best Performance by an Actor in a Lead Role for his portrayal of Crisostomo Ibarra in Maria Clara at Ibarra. Meanwhile, Kapuso actress Barbie Forteza earned her well-deserved recognition for playing the role of Klay in the series and won Best Performance by an Actress in a Lead Role.

Kapuso actor Royce Cabrera also gained recognition for his portrayal of drag queen Edwin Luis on Magpakailanman's 'Born to be a Queen' and won the Best Performance in a Lead Role (Male or Female - Single Performance).

Meanwhile, Barangay LS 97.1's Talk to Papa was recognized as the Best Radio Program (Entertainment/Human Interest) while its host, Papa Marky won the Best Radio Broadcaster award (Male or Female - Entertainment/Human Interest).
