Pinoy netizens were hit with a sudden wave of nostalgia when Grammy winner H.E.R. sang a Rey Valera classic hit song at the New York-based Filipino restaurant Kalye.
H.E.R., whose real name is Gabriella Sarmiento Wilson, grew up in Vallejo, California to a Filipina mother and an African-American father.
The popular singer was captured on camera performing a soulful cover of "Maging Sino Ka Man" to the delight of Filipinos.
In the comment section of Kalye's Instagram page, KC Concepcion reacted to H.E.R. 's performance. KC's mother, Megastar Sharon Cuneta, starred in the 1991 box office Pinoy film Maging Sino Ka Man.
H.E.R. won her first Grammy's at the 61st edition, bagging the award for Best New Artist and Best R&B Song.
She and Liza Soberano are also the lead voice actors in the DreamWorks Animation movie Forgotten Island, which will premiere in Philippine cinemas on September 23.
