We've known John Lloyd Cruz as a highly-accomplished TV and movie star, but if there's another side of him that will surely melt our hearts, is being a doting father to his three-year-old son Elias Modesto.

In his exclusive interview with 24 Oras, John Lloyd stated that he plans to spend Christmas with Elias on Saturday, December 25.

He told Nelson Canlas, “Sa Pasko, magkikita kami ng anak ko, magkikita kami sa Pasko. Makakadalaw ako sa kanya.”

Aside from celebrating Christmas this week, the multi-awarded showbiz personality is also gearing up for the grand world premiere of his sitcom Happy ToGetHer on December 26.

Joining him in this big primetime project are Carmi Martin, Ashley Rivera, Miles Ocampo, Jenzel Angeles, to name a few.

John Lloyd, who plays the single daddy Julian in the show, welcomes the challenge of launching a new sitcom.

He admitted that the whole team is still adjusting with the rigors of shooting amid the ongoing pandemic.

“Bawat bagong opportunity is a new challenge for me, then siguro, mas malaking challenge na nasa bagong bakuran tayo, it's challenging kasi siyempre nangangapa kami.”

The actor continued, “'Yung aming grupo, 'yung aming pamilya kaya napakasuwerte namin, dahil 'yung assistance at 'pag gabay nila Sir Joey [Abacan] ay talagang hindi matatawaran and 'yung opportunity na galing kina Ma'am Annette [Gozon] and kay Mr. [Felipe Gozon] araw-araw namin ipinagpapasalamat.”

Meanwhile, Direk Edgar Mortiz recalled in his interview with 24 Oras how it all began and lauded his lead star for saying yes to this incredible project.

Direk Mortiz said, “Alam n'yo naman 'yung pinanggalingan namin, so nung medyo nawalan lahat ng mga trabaho 'yung iba noh kinausap ko siya sabi ko, 'Lloydie puwede ba tayo gumawa [ng show] para matulungan mo 'yung mga kasamahan natin.' “Tapos sabi niya, 'Sige Direk, kung makakatulong ako babalik ako.'”

John Lloyd also stressed that the team behind Happy ToGetHer will do everything to provide quality entertainment to return the favor of all those who made this show into a reality.

“In return ang gusto lang naman namin ay maibalik sa audience, sa viewers ng Kapuso Network sa buong mundo 'yung favor na ibinibigay sa amin ng mga bosses dito sa Kapuso Network.”
