'We won't let it defeat us,' Liza wrote as she announced that her dad Mike Diño has stage 4 cancer.
Former Film Development Council of the Philippines chairman Liza Diño-Seguerra revealed that her father, former Department of Interior and Local Government undersecretary Mike Diño has stage 4 cancer.
On Facebook, Liza, who was also a beauty queen and an actress before joining the government, shared the photos of her father while resting in bed.
She wrote, "My dad is fighting the big C (stage 4), but we won't let it defeat us. I just realized its been a year now since we found out he is sick."
"While its been difficult for our family, we are inspired by my papa's determination and fighting spirit. Ang dami nya pang gustong gawin. Ang dami nya pang gustong matulungan and I know nagpapalakas sya dahil gusto nyang bumalik sa public service."
Looking at their photos, Liza realized to be grateful for everyday she has spent with her father.
"You can't help but be grateful just for the fact that you get live another day; that being happy doesn't take that much because you recognize the value of the little things in life," she wrote.
In a separate Facebook post, Liza also shared their selfie as she thanked everyone who prayed for her father.
She wrote in the caption, "Look!!! My papa's hair is growing na. Looking good papa! Hi everyone, my dad says hi. Thank you for your prayers. Laban lang tayo. Lab yu!"
