After encouraging everyone to stay indoors, Kris Bernal has made the difficult decision to temporarily close her Korean barbecue restaurant due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the country.

As of Monday, July 13, the Department of Health (DOH) has recorded 56,259 COVID-19 cases--38,679 of which are active cases, 16046 have recovered, and1,534 deaths.

On her Instagram post last July 10, Kris announced that they will be closing House of Gogi in Banawe again.

The StarStruck alumna stressed that while it was a very difficult decision, the safety of her staff is her utmost priority.

“2020 is not a year to make profit. Just make sure to stay alive.

“Thank you so much for the overwhelming support for @houseofgogiph, especially during the past few months.

"While our goal is to serve you the best Korean dishes, our staff's safety is our top priority right now.

“The increasing number of positive cases is alarming, and we should do our best to prevent the spread of the virus.

"Hence, we'll be temporarily closing #HouseofGogiBanawe until further notice.”

Kris also expressed her gratitude to her fiancé Perry Choi for helping her go through these tough times.

“To my fianće, @choi.perry, thank you for helping me through all these tough times in life. I love you so much.

"Our hearts and our prayers go out to those businesses that are struggling right now.”

Aside from her House of Gogi restaurant, Kris also owns a flourishing cosmetics business.
