“Give blood, save lives.” Vico Sotto walks the talk! The young mayor made his own blood donation as he stepped up the blood-letting drives in Pasig City during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mayor Vico Sotto took the lead in Pasig City's improved blood-letting drives by literally making his own blood donation.
Vico posted a photo taken when he donated a bag of his blood to announce the strengthened efforts of Pasig City to promote blood donations despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
He wrote, “Ngayong pandemya, kumonti ang nagbibigay ng dugo. Napakasakit mawalan ng mahal sa buhay dahil sa kakulangan ng dugo sa blood bank.
“Regular pa rin naman ang blood-letting drive ng LGU, pero naiintindihan nating maraming natatakot o di kaya mag-donate sa ngayon. Because of this, we are stepping up our blood-letting drives. Dapat mauna kaming mga kawani ng pamahalaan. Kasama ko kanina sina City Administrator Atty. Manzanero, City Health Officer Dr. Panaligan, at PCGH Director Dr. Castro.”
Vico encouraged people to donate blood as long as they are healthy. He announced that the blood-letting drive in Pasig City is scheduled every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in the morning at the Plaza Bonifacio.
