A man allegedly drowned after the boat he was riding capsized in Buldon, Maguindanao del Norte.
In a video captured by a resident, a boat is seen crossing a river with the help of a rope in Barangay Edcor on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.
While the boat was nearing the opposite end, the rope reportedly snapped suddenly.
The boat then lost balance after water started pouring in, causing it to capsize.
Police said the 12 passengers fell into the water but were able to swim back to land, except for one man.
That man was later found later and brought to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Following the incident, residents called for the construction of a bridge in their area.
