Maine Mendoza has a strong message about mental health

Maine Mendoza took to Twitter her personal take on how to better communicate and relate to people who are experiencing problems with their mental health.

For its 'Bawal Judgmental' segment last Saturday, September 19, Eat Bulaga invited guests who struggled and won over their mental health issues. This episode also fueled Maine to share her thoughts about this sensitive topic.

Maine posted a series of reminders via her Twitter account.

She began, “Paalala lang din sa lahat, na gaano man “kababaw o kaliit” sa mata natin ang pinagdadaanan o ang problema ng iba, wala tayong karapatan na sabihan sila ng dapat nilang maramdaman. Hindi talaga natin malalaman ang pakiramdam ng isang bagay kung hindi tayo ang nasa lugar nila.”

She further encouraged not to dismiss and invalidate the thoughts, feelings, and experiences of other people.

The Eat Bulaga dabarkad continued, “Huwag natin isawalang-bahala yung nararamdaman ng iba dahil lang iba ang pananaw natin sa kanila. Matuto tayong umunawa at rumespeto ng nararamdaman at pinagdadaanan ng mga tao dahil hindi natin alam kung gaano kabigat ang mga ito para sa kanila. Diba nga, Iba-iba tayo ng laban.”

For Maine, it is enough to make other people know your concern and feel your presence.

She said, “Malaking bagay ang presensya natin, pakikinig natin, pagtanong ng “kamusta ka?” para sa mga taong may pinagdadaanan.
