In the latest episode of Heart World, Heart Evangelista opened up about the striking differences she noticed between the fashion scenes in Shanghai and Europe, giving fans a glimpse into her experiences as a global style icon.
According to Heart, Shanghai's fashion culture feels more modern and vibrant, with audiences embracing bold trends while still incorporating relatable styles.
She shared, "I love it. It's different in a sense that you can feel that it's very intertwined with our culture so I kind of relate to it a lot. Parang they know how to dress us and it feels really good na parang this is only my first show, it's only my first day but sobrang interesting n'ya. And mind you, we're only three hours away from the Philippines."
In contrast, Heart described Europe's fashion scene as deeply rooted in heritage, craftsmanship, and timeless elegance, while sharing that Shanghai feels more freeing and experimental when it comes to fashion.
She explained, "Kasi sa Europe may pagka-minimalist, classic. Dito parang I belong, maximalist kasi ako, e. Saka ako kahit anong salpak mo, basta feeling ko maganda ako, feeling ko maganda kahit hindi naman matchy. Kakaiba as in it's so inspiring, parang nabuhayan yung mga dugo ko, yung mga senses namin kasi doon 'pag nilagay mo lahat, parang ang ganda tingnan."
She also added that Shanghai Fashion Week guests are more confident and expressive, and open to trying bold fashion choices.
“The difference here is that even if you want to do your own layout kahit humiga ka pa sa sahig okay lang sa kanila because everyone's doing it. In Europe, I probably wouldn't do that because I'd be too shy. Pero dito, pak, higa, take the moment."
Despite the differences, the fashion influencer noted both fashion capitals offer unique inspirations and opportunities for creativity.
