LIST: Cinema '76 is showing Female Films this March

For the month of March, we're celebrating all things women. It warms our heart to know that women are the frontline for independent theater, Cinema '76 Film Society (located in San Juan City and Anonas, Quezon City).

Here's the line-up of films:

1. Born Beautiful (2019)

After her best friend Trisha (Paolo Ballesteros) dies, Barbs starts a new life as a straight man named Bobby, which leads her to Trisha's ex-boyfriend Michaelangelo, to her own ex-boyfriend Greg and to a woman claiming she is pregnant with Barb's child.

2. 100 Tula Para Kay Stella (2017)

Throughout his four years in college, Fidel (JC Santos), a stuttering student, tries to finish 100 poems dedicated to Stella (Bella Padilla), an aspiring but frustrated rock star, to win her heart.

3. BuyBust (2018)

An anti-drug enforcement agency stages a massive drug bust in the slums of Manila.

4. Elise (2019)

Bert (Enchong Dee) is quick-witted but an emotional guy who falls in love with Elise (Janine Gutierrez) who is a strong and independent woman. They separated to pursue their studies only to meet again when they grow up.

5. Liway (2018)

The true story of a young mother who uses story-telling to protect her child from the reality of growing up in prison and the difficult life she endured.

6. Miss Granny (2018)

Fely is an elderly woman who finds a second chance at youth after a visit to a mysterious photo studio.

7. Women of the Weeping River (2016)

Two women ina remote Muslim community confront an escalating blood feud and reach deep into themselves in hopes to undo the feud stretching back generations.
