After making a triumphant return from his military duties last July, SHINee leader Onew is slowly transitioning to his civilian life by trying new activities, including cooking for SM Entertainment's staff.
In his vlog titled “Jinki Jangpan,” Onew said that he wanted to show his appreciation to the hardworking employees by cooking them bungeo-ppang, a famous fish-shaped pastry stuffed with sweetened red bean paste.
“I got a lot of help from the company. There's staff from the company and staff from SHINee,” he said.
“For these people, I wanted to do something related to winter for the staff who has been and will be working hard for me. So, I decided to make bungeo-ppang for them.
“It would be nice if they could feel happy at work, and I also want to energize them, so that's what I will try to do.”
From advertising his food business through the SM Entertainment building to mixing the batter of the famous street food pastry, Onew worked diligently and communicated with the personnel who lined up at his food truck.
At one point, the K-pop idol even felt the pressure as he saw the queue getting longer and longer as employees eagerly await their orders.
One SM Entertainment staff assured him, “It's fine even if you fail, I'm a SHINee World!”
SHINee member Key also made a cameo in Onew's vlog and decided to deliver the bungeo-ppang to the hungry staff who made a reservation per floor.
By the end, the singer said, “Today was such a busy day. But still, the staff was so nice about it.
“They offered so much help to me, so I'm glad it went smoothly.”
The first episode of his vlog series showed him act as manager for a day to their group maknae Taemin.
