Myrna Alonsagay is an entrepreneur whose success story is truly an inspiration.
She's one of the many probinsyanas who left their provinces to find jobs in cities.
Fortunately, for Myrna, her luck or blessing just popped out of nowhere, just like a mushroom.
In 2008, Myrna went to Manila to find better opportunities. At the time, her children were already in college and she needed more income to provide for their education.
Her first job upon arriving in Manila was managing a store at a wet market.

Upon seeing its potential, Myrna then started her own mushroom business by growing 3,000 fruiting bags in their backyard.
She harvested 10 kilograms of mushrooms after four months during her first try.
From her initial capital of P3,000, her business flourished, and all modesty aside, Myrna is now a certified millionaire.

She now owns three houses, a number of vehicles, and hectares of land.
But despite the financial abundance that Myrna and her family are experiencing, she says her biggest achievement in life is being able to send her kids to college.
All three of her children are now college graduates and two of them earned a degree in information technology and are now using what they've learned to help run the family business.
Plus, each of Myrna's children have already been able to invest in their own individual homes.
