EDAM Entertainment and ACE FACTORY confirm the couple's breakup.

South Korean stars IU and Lee Jong -suk have officially ended their relationship after four years together.

On Friday, both artists' agencies confirmed the breakup.

According to Lee Jong-suk's agency, ACE FACTORY, the two have decided to part ways but will remain on good terms as colleagues.

"It is true that Lee Jong-suk and IU have broken up. They have decided to remain good colleagues," the agency said, adding that it could not provide further details because the matter is private.

IU's agency, EDAM Entertainment, also confirmed the split, saying, "It is true that they broke up."

The couple first went public with their romance in December 2022 after Lee Jong-suk made a heartfelt mention of IU while accepting the Daesang (Grand Prize) at the 2022 MBC Drama Awards. His agency later confirmed that the two had developed their longtime friendship into a romantic relationship.

Before confirming their relationship, IU and Lee Jong-suk had been known to be close friends in the Korean entertainment industry for years.

Despite their breakup, both stars remain busy with their respective careers. IU is currently preparing for a new album and concert, while Lee Jong-suk is set to star in the upcoming Disney+ drama The Remarried Empress.
