Janice Hung as Bathalumang Ether

Janice Hung paid tribute to her iconic role as Bathalumang Ether after superserye 'Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre' concluded.

Martial artist and actress Janice Hung shared a message on her Instagram post, reflecting on her journey as the character Bathalumang Ether in the recently concluded hit superserye from the Kapuso network, Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre.

In her heartfelt post, Janice reflected on the complexity of playing a character who transitioned from a feared villain to a figure seeking redemption, which is why she admitted that she has grown much closer to her character, Ether.

“From being feared as the Snake Goddess villain to finding redemption in the end, Bathalumang Ether became a character very close to my heart,” Janice wrote.

She also emphasized the effort she poured into the role, from the intense choreography of the fight scenes to the emotional weight of her dialogue.

For Janice, playing Ether wasn't just about the action; it was about honoring a franchise that holds a special place in the hearts of Filipino fantasy fans.

“Her journey may have been short in this season, but every moment portraying her was unforgettable. I gave my all to every fight scene, every emotion, and every line because I knew how much this world and these characters meant to so many people,” she said.

She also expressed her gratitude to everyone who supported and loved her character in the superserye, stating that they served as a major source of motivation for her to work even harder and truly bring Ether to life.

The actress took a moment to thank the Encantadiks, the show's dedicated fanbase, for looking past Ether's villainous roots and embracing her evolution.

“To everyone who supported and loved Bathalumang Ether, thank you for embracing her story beyond just being a villain. Your love and support became one of my biggest motivations to work even harder in bringing her character to life,” Janice expressed.

Looking toward the future of the franchise, Janice expressed her deep appreciation for being part of the Encantadia family while hinting that the mystical realm still has many tales left to uncover.

“Grateful to be part of the Encantadia family and to everyone behind this magical journey. The world of Encantadia still holds so many stories, mysteries, and journeys waiting to be told… and hopefully, this is not the last time we step into its magic,” she shared.

She also extended her gratitude to the team at GMA Network: “Maraming salamat sa GMA, sa lahat ng staff, directors, writers, production team, and crew who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to bring this world to life.”

Closing her tribute with a nod to the show's iconic lore, Janice shared a final message of hope.

“Hanggang sa muli, Encantadia. Avisala Eshma,” she wrote.
