While remaining deeply devoted to her family life, Kapuso star Jennylyn Mercado continues to carve out time for her creative passions, setting her sights on new music releases and ambitious acting goals.

Reconnecting with her musical roots, Jennylyn shared with GMANetwork.com during the grand album launch and media conference for her new release, JEN Deluxe, last Thursday, August 20, how getting back into singing lets her express a side of herself that acting usually doesn't show.

The new eight-track project under Star Music, featuring fresh releases alongside tracks from her self-titled 2025 EP, serves as her major musical return following a hiatus from the recording scene.

Talking about the difference between acting and singing, the Kapuso actress said making music gives her creative freedom.

“Halos pareho lang sila, ang difference lang, hindi ako kumakanta sa TV, sa soap, sa series, or sa movie. Dito, I get to sing, nagagawa ko 'yung mga gusto kong gawin, nagagawa ko 'yung first love ko which is singing, 'yung music,” Jennylyn expressed.

Looking ahead, she has clear goals for the next chapter of her career, aiming for international projects and new musical partnerships.

“As an actress, s'yempre international projects. As a singer, more collaborations with other artists,” she shared.

She also gave a heartfelt thanks to the loyal supporters who have cheered for her since day one.

“Gusto ko magpasalamat sa lahat ng mga supporters, sa mga mahal kong fans na simula umpoisa hanggang sa ngayon ay hindi pa rin sila nagsasawang sumuporta sa akin. Maraming, maraming salamat po,” the Kapuso actress said.

Since rising to fame as the first Ultimate Female Survivor of StarStruck in 2003, Jennylyn has built an enduring legacy as Philippine television's “Ultimate Star.”

Beyond her box-office record as a two-time Metro Manila Film Festival Best Actress winner for English Only, Please and Walang Forever, she has consistently topped hit series like My Faithful Husband and Sanggang-Dikit FR.

Alongside her celebrated acting achievements, her musical discography includes chart-topping pop singles like Sa Aking Panaginip and Kahit Sandali.

With JEN Deluxe marking a bold creative leap forward, Jennylyn continues to prove her unmatched staying power across both acting and music.
