With the success of the film That Boy in the Dark, its lead actor, Joaquin Domagoso, has ticked off another item on his bucket list and that is to star in a horror film.
“Yes, nasa bucket list din po yan na kukuha din ako ng horror movie but this is actually the second horror film I did. First one was also with direk Adolf, so happy ako naka-two na ako,” Joaquin said in an interview.
Previously, Joaquin starred in the horror anthology Huwag Kang Lalabas in 2021, appearing in the second of three parts. The film was directed by Adolf Alix Jr. and he starred with Aiko Melendez, James Blanco, and Bembol Rocco among others.
Joaquin admitted that he liked That Boy in the Dark better “because it's more mind-boggling.”
He added, "It's more on their perspective kasi kayo po mismo makakakita kung ano po ang katunayan sa mga nangyayari."
Because of his character, Joaquin was asked if he believes in the supernatural.
He answered, “Personally, I've slowly, slowly gotten to believe in the supernatural because my sister, apparently, keeps getting locked out of her room."
According to him, his sister, Frances, kept getting locked out of her room even when she was alone. He added that the doors can only be locked from the outside and were made that way so that they can lock them to prevent dogs from getting in.
However, the Kapuso actor admitted that he has not experienced anything “supernatural.” Only his sster Frances and one of his brothers, Drake, are the only ones who can see or feel anything, according to their mom.
“Frances and Drake are yung nakakakita, nakakaramdam, pero yung kaming tatlo, iba, oblivious to all of the happenings,” he added.
Now that Joaquin has fulfilled an item on his bucket list twice, the young actor said that he's now ready to take on new things.
He mentioned that he wants to try to be a villain for a change in his next project.
“Try lang, pero it doesn't have to be a serye. It can also be a film, it can also be a TV show,” he said.
He added that he wants to be a villain who seems to be the good guy at first without revealing his bad intentions.
“Kasi ako, mukha akong mabait, e. Mahirap siya i-portray. But I can be like a mastermind that secretly enjoys the satisfaction of all the pain that he's given around the people but giving a smile to the people,” he said.
Joaquin also asked fans to watch his upcoming musical show directed by Vince Tañada. While the actor has yet to reveal any details, he mentioned that it should be out soon.
Meanwhile, you can watch Joaquin on That Boy in the Dark showing in cinemas now.
