Resident Kapuso director Adolf Alix, Jr. extended his long list of international awards after winning the Best Director plum at the International Manhattan Film Awards for the movie That Boy In The Dark, starring Kapuso actor Joaquin Domagoso.
A few days into the new year, Direk Adolf released the news on a Facebook post.
He wrote, "And another blessing as we begin 2023! Again, this is for #TeamThatBoyInTheDark. Little did we know that we will be receiving all these pat[s] on the back when we were doing the film."
"We are in awe of these blessings pouring in for our film in the past months. Thanks, Daddie Wowie for your passion for our film."
That Boy In The Dark follows the story of a blind young man (Joaquin Domagoso's character) as he "encounters weird and eerie things."
Aside from the International Manhattan Film Awards, Direk Adolf also received the same award at the 2022 Boden International Film Festival in Sweden. He also received a Special Mention at the Five Continents International Film Festival in Venezuela, and Silver Award winner for Best Director at the Latitude Film Awards in the United Kingdom.
Meanwhile, Joaquin also won the best actor plum at the International Manhattan Film Awards, Boden International Film Festival, 16th Toronto Film and Scripts Awards, and the 2022 Five Continents International Film Festival.

The internationally-acclaimed film will be shown in theaters starting January 8. Meanwhile, Direk Adolf is set to direct GMA Afternoon Prime's upcoming series AraBella, starring Shayne Sava, Althea Ablan, and Camille Prats.
