John Arcilla

'Sang'gre' star John Arcilla undergoes training with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)!

It seems Hagorn's plan to destroy the world of Encantadia has to take a backseat, as a bigger mission awaits him in real life.

Recently, veteran star John Arcilla underwent intensive fire service training with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

As the department's Fire Prevention Ambassador, John stepped out of his comfort zone to deepen his understanding of the role. Rather than simply serving as an endorser, the Sang'gre star took part in drills and experienced firsthand the responsibilities carried by firefighters.

In a social media post, John shared his reflections on the unforgettable training.

"I just realized how true it is to say that firefighters are real heroes. Just the experience of putting on the heavy jackets and fire gear—especially the gas mask—even for just a day made me understand so much. The rescue drills I went through helped me absorb how difficult it is for a firefighter to arrest wildfires," he shared.

"The CPR training was just as interesting and made me realize how multifaceted the responsibilities of these men are. It was truly an eye-opener. A firefighter's job is no joke, nor is it fun at all."

The actor expressed deep admiration for firefighters who dedicate their lives to serving Filipinos.

"My respect and admiration for firefighters now go beyond mere awareness of what they do—it is about understanding how they risk their lives and consciously choose the responsibility of saving others. Salute to firefighters. They are real-life heroes."

Meanwhile, John Arcilla also spreads nostalgia and fantasy vibes in GMA's superserye Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre.

Catch Hagorn and the rest of the cast of Sang'gre every weeknight at 8:05 p.m. on GMA Prime and Kapuso Stream.
