During his hiatus, actor John Lloyd Cruz went places to look for a different kind of environment-- away from showbiz limelight and bustling cities of Metro Manila.
The multi-awared actor was grateful to have discovered the picture perfect island of El Nido, Palawan.
For many local and foreign tourists, El Nido is a paradise, a dreamland worth a few days. However, for John Lloyd, the island is a home and a place of respite where he finally found his peace.
In his guest appearance on Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho, John Lloyd shared what made him stay in El Nido.
"Kahit sabihin mong kung saan saang dako ng mundo ka nakakarating nandito lang pala o isang lipad lang 'yung katumbas," he said.
A far cry from his glamourous, almost-perfect celebrity life in the city, living in El Nido brought him back to basics and gave him that sense of normalcy he has long been yearning for.
"Nung bagong salta ko dito, nakikibahay lang ako dun sa kinuhanan ko ng property. Malalim yung naging papel no'n, nung mga panahon na yun--yun lang paglalakad, e, to get from point A to point B, na sanay na sanay kang kinokotse mo."
One of the things John Lloyd liked about staying in El Nido was being able to walk on the streets and interacting with people who do not treating him like a celebrity.
"They will not bother you here, ikaw 'yung nagmamasid, ikaw yung nakatulala sa paligid mo. Para sa mga panahon na yon, na nagnanais lang naman na tumahimik, hindi ka mawawalan ng dahilan para mag-extend at mag-extend at mag-extend at bumalik nang bumalik," he said.
John Lloyd's love for nature also convinced him to finally secure a property in El Nido. Indeed, it gives him the rest he needs before going back to his busy city life.
