John Prats recently shared heartfelt memories about his past relationship with his former love team partner, Heart Evangelista, revealing that she was his very first girlfriend.

In the latest episode of Heart World, John admitted that being young and inexperienced at the time made it difficult for him to properly express his feelings and appreciate Heart's efforts during their relationship.

“Siyempre 'pag bata ka, 'di mo naman alam kung ano ie-express, kung paano mo ibabalik kasi first girlfriend ko si Heart,” John revealed.

He recalled meeting Heart when they were still teenagers. While he admitted he was already trying to flirt back then, he explained that his strict upbringing limited his experiences with relationships.

“Wala kasi akong idea kung paano ba maging boyfriend. Before Heart, nag-meet kami, I was 16, 15. Pero before noon, lumalandi din naman ako. Lalaki ako e. Pero dati kasi over the phone, strict yung parents ko. 'Di ako nakakalabas, so yun lang yung landi ko,” he explained.

John confessed that once someone started reciprocating his feelings, he would often become nervous and unsure of what to do. However, things changed when he and Heart officially became a couple.

“So 'pag sinasagot na ako, natatakot na ako. Noong kami ni Heart talaga, yun yung wala akong choice but to have her around. So noong naging kami, first time lahat, first time lahat noong pakiramdam, so hindi ko alam kung paano ko ibabalik sa kanya,” he added.

Despite his uncertainty at the time, John said their relationship felt natural because they were constantly together. “Actually, 'pag nagkikita kami effortless kasi nga as in Monday to Sunday, we were together,” he recalled.

Now older and wiser, John admitted he has gained a deeper appreciation for the relationship they once shared. He also expressed regret for not being able to verbalize his appreciation during their younger years.

“Sorry kung 'di ko yun nasasabi noong time na 'yon but ngayon na tumanda na tayo, nagkaroon na tayo kahit papaano wisdom in our lives and doon ka nakakapag-look back and appreciate those things,” he said.

The actor went on to praise Heart for being a devoted girlfriend throughout their relationship. Among the things that left a lasting impact on him was a scrapbook Heart made for him, which he considered one of the most genuine symbols of their love.

“Sabi ko nga, sa lahat ng naging ex ko, kay Heart ako walang nasasabi. Wala talaga akong masasabi kasi siya talaga yung very giving, understanding, thoughtful. Siguro din yung scrapbook, 'yan yung totoong nagpahirap, e, noong nawala. Those were the memories talaga na when you look back, ang genuine.”

John also candidly admitted that he may have been immature and unappreciative during their relationship because of his young age at the time.

“Masasabi ko pa nga na ako yung masama in a way noong time na yun, 'di ako appreciative. I was really young, playful,” he confessed.
